Hinter der Arbeit der Global Leadership Academy verbirgt sich ein interdisziplinäres Team aus kreativen Köpfen und leidenschaftlichen Denkerinnen und Denkern. Wir alle haben im Ausland gelebt und gearbeitet und es macht uns Spaß, unsere Horizonte stetig über nationale, kulturelle und mentale Grenzen hinweg zu erweitern.

Unsere unterschiedlichen Werdegänge und Perspektiven sowie unsere gemeinsame Begeisterung für Wandel sorgen für die nötige Spannung und Inspiration in unserer täglichen Arbeit und motivieren uns, die Konzepte und Methoden der GLAC immer weiter zu verbessern.


Dr. Wiebke Koenig

Dr. Wiebke Koenig

Wiebke is convinced that social transformation will only take place if we offer spaces where people can meet, get to know each other, share and understand their perspectives and finally shape common goals. At the core of her interest is the quest to contribute to an improved international understanding. Her main current objective is therefore to support the establishment of international multistakeholder dialogue processes as central elements of international development cooperation.

Wiebke acted as Head of the Global Leadership Academy since 2013. Previously she was serving as Head of GIZ Corporate Communication Office Berlin, held responsibility for the Liaison Office to the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research and acted as Senior Advisor for East Asia. Before joining GIZ, she has been a lecturer in sociology, focusing on transformation processes in East and Central Asia, economical ethics, comparative sociology and world system theory. She holds a Master of Science in Political Science and East Asian Studies and a PhD in Sociology.

Mareike Zenker

Mareike Zenker

Mareike is convinced of the importance of social dimensions in all development areas. Connecting different people and fostering exchange has always been a central aspect of her professional life. She has been actively involved in different global and regional networks.

Before joining the Global Leadership Academy in 2015, which she is currently heading, she was head of a project on strengthening women’s rights in Indonesia directly targeting at building links between different stakeholders at different levels and sectors. She has been working in various positions supporting governance issues and projects in Asia, Africa and the MENA-region. She graduated in Sociology and is trained in Change Management.

Simone Hereth

Simone Hereth

Simone has been working for the GIZ since 2010 and joined the Global Leadership Academy in 2012. She is responsible for the Community and Alumni Management. She brings a wealth of experience to her role gained from her career in Banking and Human Resources where she has worked for Siemens in the United States, Credit Suisse in London, and Merrill Lynch in Frankfurt.

Simone holds a Diploma in Business Administration from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences with specialisation in Human Resources, Finance and International Management.

Astrid Niehaus

Astrid Niehaus

Astrid started working for the GIZ in 1993. Since then she has worked in various divisions on a wide range of topics: promotion of the public private sector, human trafficking, poverty reduction, gender and human resources. She joined the Global Leadership Academy in 2017 and is in charge of the event management. Because of her long employment with GIZ and former GTZ she has worked, met and connected with different people in all areas across the globe and therefore strengthened her intercultural competence and personal international network. Astrid holds a diploma in English and Business Administration.

Jennifer Hartmann

Jennifer Hartmann

Jenny has been working for the Global Leadership Academy since May 2018 and is responsible for finances, contracts and event management. She started her apprenticeship at GIZ in 2013 and graduated in 2016. Afterwards, she gained practical experience in workshop organization during her time at the GIZ office in Bangkok. Since 2016 and before joining the GLAC, she has been working in the financial department and calculated international projects.

Apart from her work at the Global Leadership Academy, Jenny is currently pursuing a further education in event management. Her vision is to connect different people and to build a network that supports everyone without exception.

Yamina Ouldali

Yamina Ouldali

Yamina joined the Global Leadership Academy in May 2018 and is supporting GLAC’s Communications and Alumni Management. She is keen to enhance global cooperation between stakeholders from diverse backgrounds at eye level and is convinced that the Global Leadership Academy is the right platform for these dialogue processes. Yamina is thrilled about bringing together the different change makers that form the global GLAC Community and to communicate with and about them. She studied International Business and Intercultural Studies with a focus on the Arab World in Germany and Morocco.

Vanessa Liem

Vanessa Liem

Vanessa became part of the Global Leadership Academy in September 2018 and is supporting the team in strategy and cooperation matters. She is passionate about connecting diverse people from all over the world and strongly believes in the transformative and innovative power of dialogue on eye level. Vanessa is convinced that by providing dialogue spaces to address global challenges from different perspectives, innovative solutions for sustainable development can be created. She studied economics in Munich and Shanghai with focus on economic theory and behavioral economics.

 

Benjamin Kolb

Benjamin Kolb

Benjamin joined the Global Leadership Academy in September 2018 and is part of the Communications- and Alumni Management-Team at GLAC. His great interest is aimed at the main approach of GLAC: to create an interdisciplinary and international dialogue at eye level across borders and experts.  He shares the understanding of global challenges with innovative solutions with a creative urge that is made possible and promoted within GLAC. With the many different decision-makers within the GLAC Community, Benjamin is eager to get to grips with a wide variety of topics and experts.

Benjamin studied Political and Social Studies as well as Educational Science in the south of Germany, in Würzburg. After graduating, he worked as a personal consultant for matters of migration as well as in the PR, event and communications sector in Berlin.

Ramses Bermudez

Ramses Bermudez

Ramses is a Nicaraguan systems engineer, who decided to pursue a life in environmental conservation, obtaining two master degrees, one in environmental science and another in technology and resources management. Ever since, he has focused his professional career in sustainable development working with international cooperation organizations in developing countries, supporting environmental management, and promoting clean energy alternatives.

He joined the Global Leadership Academy in February 2019 to support the development of digital solutions, recommending innovative tools for collaboration and online interaction. Ramses strongly believes in the potential of people coming together to provide solutions to today's complex challenges. With this in mind, his main objective is to provide an easy-to-use platform where people from multiple backgrounds can interact and collaborate on the pursue of an innovative solution that considers all the different aspects of the issues at hand.
